Megastore Tidy Up Together Co-op Roles That Clear Stores

Fetcher, shelver, and floor claims for online sessions on every launch map.

Co-op Roles

Two players in Megastore: Tidy Up Together should not tidy the same pile. Online co-op is optional, but it is the comfortable way to restore the two-story Megastore (13,380 items, nine departments, 978 shelves). This page assigns jobs. It sits under the co-op players hub and next to solo play. For the tree that supports each job, use solo vs co-op skills and best skills. For the session itself, use the co-op guide.

Co-op is online on Steam Windows. It is not local-only. Yolo Games Studio shipped the game on 2 September 2026 after closed playtests and a short Steam review delay. Invite a friend, pick a host file you are willing to share, and assign the three jobs below before anyone grabs the first product.

Fetcher

The fetcher lives on the floor. Your eyes stay down. Your HUD tools are the magnet-style pull, the roller, and the crate. You own:

  • Mixed carpets in the Toy Store (helicopters, foam, ride-ons).
  • Grocery lines and dropped produce in the Supermarket.
  • Atrium dumps and clogged escalators in the Megastore.

You do not seat a full bay unless the shelver is upstairs. Hand off matching groups. Products auto-sort in your hand; read the counter (for example a lava lamp stack that already shows 1/28) and deliver a finished group instead of a mixed armload.

Buy Stack Capacity +3 on this role. You are the pack mule. After hotfix 1.0.1 the node grants +3, not the launch bug’s +6. Confirm the live number. Skip Long Reach unless the shelver already has it and you still cannot reach a floor item under a shelf.

Shelver

The shelver lives on the bays. Your eyes stay on signs and green outlines. Your HUD tools are the flashlight, Long Reach (+1 m), and the compact tool if large hold poses still block your view (the hotfix already adjusted several of those poses).

You own:

  • Reading department signs (Toy Figures, Plushies, Books, Sweet Bakes, Fresh Fish, and the rest of the nine Megastore departments).
  • Seating a match once the fetcher arrives.
  • The last SKU in a department. Flashlight plus green highlights beat wandering.

Buy Long Reach first on this role, and only after hotfix 1.0.1 if you can. The launch bug that could reduce reach when Long Reach was the first perk is patched. You are the person who should stretch to a top shelf so the fetcher never climbs.

Puzzle Foam V moved to the Toy Store floor for new saves. Old saves may still hide it on the top shelf of the corner plushie section. That is a shelver job on an old file and a fetcher job on a new file. Call it out.

Floor claims on the Megastore

Fetcher and shelver are jobs. Floors are territory. On the two-story map, add a claim:

  • Downstairs owns the atrium, bakery signs such as Rolls & Baguettes and Sweet Bakes, fish counters, and the escalator intake.
  • Upstairs owns the balcony overflow (umbrellas and whatever spilled from the ride) and the departments that only exist on the second story.

Do not both ride the escalator every time a beach ball falls. The downstairs player tosses up; the upstairs player seats. The Megastore walkthrough is the map. This page is only the claim.

On Toy Store, a floor claim is optional. One player can own Plushies while the other owns Toy Figures. On Supermarket, claim left versus right of the main aisle rather than both chasing fresh food. The Supermarket guide lists the layout; stick to your half.

Callouts, megaphone, and controller binds

Use short callouts: department name, floor, and whether you need a match or a bay. The megaphone is a numbered HUD ability for this, not a named perk. One player can bind it. Two megaphones is noise.

Controller left trigger overlaps grab and abilities. The shelver will accidentally fire a tool while trying to take a seated product off a shelf to rearrange it. Rebind before the session using the controls guide. Keyboard and mouse remain the cleaner pair for the shelver; the fetcher can stay on a pad if pull and crate sit on bumpers.

Green highlights already mark matching bays. Do not spend the first minute of a session explaining colours. Spend it claiming departments out loud.

Hosting, Unstuck, and crash habits

Players have requested separate solo and partner saves. Do not assume you have them. Host on a copy. Autosave and crash reports were common at launch. If the session dies, the host reloads; do not both keep tidying as if the other person is still there.

ESC pause is for a solo session after hotfix 1.0.1. In co-op, break when a department hits zero, not in the middle of an escalator run.

Unstuck Product gained a missing Supermarket area in the hotfix. The host opens that setting. Fetchers should ping a stuck SKU rather than magnet-spamming a collision.

The no-skills achievement tracks finishing a store without using skills. If anyone wants that, nobody in the session uses a numbered ability. Agree before load-in. The 33-achievement list includes play with or without the tree; do not surprise your partner.

Invite people from the studio Discord (https://discord.gg/ewGHrHnZPn) if you need a second body for the Megastore. There are no codes that spawn a helper. Check system requirements if a partner stutters on the two-story map, and keep the store checklist open for the last twenty items.

Claim a job, claim a floor, and leave the other person’s pile alone. That three-sentence briefing is the whole co-op meta until the post-launch maps arrive.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Who should buy Long Reach in a duo?

The shelver. The fetcher buys Stack Capacity +3. Details are on solo vs co-op skills.

Should both players work the same Megastore department?

No. Split fetch versus shelf, then add a downstairs versus upstairs claim. Meeting in one aisle doubles the walking you meant to remove.

How do we handle the no-skills achievement together?

Either both of you avoid skills, or you run it solo. A partner's HUD ability can spoil the tracking that hotfix 1.0.1 repaired.

Who opens Unstuck Product?

The host. Hotfix 1.0.1 added a missing Supermarket area to that settings list. Ping a stuck SKU instead of both searching collision.

Can we pause together?

ESC pauses time when you are the only player in the session. In co-op, break at department boundaries. See solo play for the one-player pause.

Where do we find a partner?

Studio Discord is https://discord.gg/ewGHrHnZPn. Official links also sit on the links page. There are no promo codes for a helper.
