Toy Store Walkthrough

The Toy Store is the first unlock in Megastore: Tidy Up Together, not a side map. Yolo Games Studio sized it at 3,555 items and 297 shelves on one story, mixing toys with summer stock so you learn signs before grocery density. You cannot skip it and spawn in the Megastore. If this is your first boot, skim Getting Started for HUD remaining counts and the controls guide for Throw and Switch Product, then come back here for a route.

The top-left HUD uses 297 and 3,555 as the store totals and tracks remaining work as you shelf. Bottom-left starts at a 10-stack (later upgrades show 20). Early ability icons on this floor are flashlight, paint roller, megaphone, and crate — not a full magnet bar yet. Play with skills or without; 1.0.1 repaired the achievement that tracks a store finished without skills.

Scout the signs before you fill a bay

Walk a lap. Orange hanging signs you will actually use:

  • Pretend Play
  • Educational Toys
  • Retro Toys
  • Plushies (corner bay is the foam-V hunt)
  • Toy Figures (green outline example: wrestlers, aliens, dinos, lab coats)
  • Summer clutter: ride-on cars, inflatable rings, beach balls, pool toys sitting on the same carpet as SKUs that belong in toy bays

Checkouts 01–03 collect junk on the belts. Treat them as a dump, not a department. If a product is in your hands, the name prints (Retro Green Lava Lamp 1/28) and matching world items glow green (Army Toy Helicopter is the usual screenshot). If the shelf is not green, Switch Product or walk to a different sign. Facings show counts and price tags; empty done slots can read SOLD OUT.

Suggested clear order

Work walls, not a random magnet circle.

  1. Toy Figures and Retro Toys. Dense identical SKUs teach stack cycling. Fill a 10-stack of one family, return to the green bay, empty, repeat. Throw (R) leftovers into a pile at the bay foot, not into Plushies.
  2. Pretend Play and Educational Toys. Larger hold poses got adjusted in hotfix 1.0.1; if a big toy clips, use Unstuck Product.
  3. Summer ride-ons and inflatables. They look like Megastore summer overflow, but they still have Toy Store homes. Do not “save them for the mall.”
  4. Plushies last among the main bays. Corner plushie section is where Puzzle Foam V used to sit on a top shelf. On new saves after 3 September 2026 it is on the floor. Old saves may still hide it high.
  5. Checkouts and floor sweep. Anything on a belt, under a ride-on, or in a hoop.

Use the store checklist if you like ticking families. Sorting faster is the generic sweep logic; this page is the toy-shop application.

Last items that stall 100%

Players hunting a clean remaining HUD without skills stall on three hides that show up across the game and bite here first:

  • A yoyo in a low or visually noisy pile
  • A letter-V foam board (Puzzle Foam V after the hotfix lives on the plushie-corner floor for new saves)
  • A basketball in a hoop that looks like decoration

Green highlight helps only if you are holding a match. For the last dozen remaining items, empty your hands and walk. Flashlight (slot 1 on the early bar) is for dark corners, not for skipping the hoop check. Magnet-style pull, if you already unlocked it on a later visit, will yank sorted facings off a bay if you get greedy.

Arcade machines and hidden tokens are player-reported extra buffs, not required for opening. If you chase them, do it after the remaining item count is in the low hundreds, or you will forget which plush facing you were filling.

Skills on this floor

You do not need a max tree to open the Toy Store. If skills are on, Long Reach (+1 m) and stack size matter more than crate or megaphone theatrics. Hotfix 1.0.1 set +3 Stack Capacity after a bug granted +6. This wiki does not invent other official node names. Compare solo versus co-op if a friend is grabbing the same green helicopter you wanted.

Achievements you can trip without trying: First Thing First, Shelf Starter, A Place for Everything, Ready for Opening, Getting the Hang of It, Stacked Up, Long Reach. Grand Opening and Shelf Whisperer tend to wait for later stores. There are 33 Steam achievements total.

Co-op versus solo in 297 shelves

Solo is comfortable here. If you invite anyway, split Plushies versus Figures so two people are not Switch-Product fighting over one $35 facing. Co-op and co-op roles cover hosting. ESC pauses the timer when you are the only player after 1.0.1; in a lobby it does not freeze friends.

When the remaining HUD is near zero, stop using Throw as a search tool. Walk the hoop, the plushie corner floor, and the checkout belts once more. Then unlock the Supermarket (7,934 items / 487 shelves). Grocery signs in the later Megastore (Rice, Pasta, Breads) are a different building; do not expect this toy shop to teach meat counters.

When the last SKU is Puzzle Foam V or a yoyo, drop skills if you are hunting the no-skill achievement, then check the floor of the corner plushie bay before you blame the top shelf.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How big is the Toy Store?

3,555 items and 297 shelves, single-story, toys plus summer. It is the first unlock, not the 13,380-item Megastore.

Where did Puzzle Foam V go after the hotfix?

On new saves, hotfix 1.0.1 moved it from the top shelf of the corner plushie section to the floor. Old saves may still have the old spot.

What stack size do I have here?

10 at the start. Later upgrades show 20. See Getting Started and best skills for capacity notes.

Can I skip the Toy Store in co-op?

No. Stores unlock progressively for the save. Hosts still need this floor done. Read the co-op guide.

What should I search when a few items remain?

Yoyo, letter-V foam, basketball in a hoop, checkout belts, and under ride-ons. Sorting faster has the generic last-item routine.
