Megastore Tidy Up Together Getting Started
First boot, HUD, and a Toy Store session plan so the Supermarket and Megastore do not feel like a wall of SKUs.
Megastore: Tidy Up Together is a paid Steam Windows release from Yolo Games Studio (about $5.99 USD). It launched on 2 September 2026. You tidy messy shops in first person, solo or in online co-op, at your own pace. There is no fail state. The game stamps a completion time when a store is ready to open. Difficulty options exist, and you can play with skills or turn them off for a cleaner challenge (hotfix 1.0.1 also repaired the achievement that tracks a store finished without skills).
You do not start in the full Megastore. The three launch floors unlock in order: Toy Store (3,555 items / 297 shelves, single-story toys and summer), Supermarket (7,934 / 487), then Megastore (13,380 items, nine departments, 978 shelves, two stories). Steam’s 13,380 is the official Megastore size. The HUD tracks remaining shelves and items; late screenshots can show 47/978 with a 13,357-style item remaining count. Treat Steam as the size, and the HUD as live remaining work.
First boot settings
Open options before you pick up a lava lamp. Rebind, FOV, and mouse sensitivity all exist. Full controller support is on the store page, but players report LT grab overlapping abilities, so keyboard and mouse stay more reliable. Details live on the controls guide. If a friend is joining, agree on binds before anyone starts shelving, or you will fight over Throw.
Pick a difficulty you can live with for a long session. This is not a combat game; difficulty mostly changes how punishing the clutter feels, not whether you can lose. Decide now whether skills are on. A no-skill Toy Store run is a real 33-achievement path (examples include First Thing First, Shelf Starter, A Place for Everything, Ready for Opening, Fresh Start, Grand Opening, Shelf Whisperer, Getting the Hang of It, Stacked Up, and Long Reach). You can always turn skills on later; you cannot pretend a boosted run was a no-skill clear.
Read the HUD before you sprint
Top-left shows a shelf fraction and an item fraction. In the Toy Store that is 297 shelves and 3,555 items. Bottom-left shows the carry stack: 10 at Toy Store start, 20 seen later after capacity upgrades. The current SKU prints on-screen (for example Retro Green Lava Lamp 1/28) while a matching product in the world gets a green outline (Army Toy Helicopter is the screenshot everyone uses).
Carried items auto-sort by category in your hands. Switch Product cycles the stack so you place the SKU the shelf actually wants. Throw is labeled R. Numbered slots fire abilities; early Toy Store icons include a flashlight, paint roller, megaphone, and crate. Later sessions add a magnet-style pull and a compact/stack tool. Do not invent extra official tree names. The only named 1.0.1 perks on this wiki are Long Reach (+1 m) and +3 Stack Capacity (a bug had granted +6). Rank them on the skill tier list and best skills pages.
Green also paints matching shelf bays. Empty slots can show SOLD OUT and a price tag once that facing is done; filled facings show a count. If the outline is not green, you are holding the wrong family even if the aisle sign is close.
First-hour loop in the Toy Store
Walk the store once without filling anything. Note Pretend Play, Educational Toys, Retro Toys, Plushies, Toy Figures, and the summer ride-on / inflatable mess. Then work one signed bay at a time: pick up a family until the stack is full, return to the green bay, empty the stack, repeat. Do not magnet-pull the whole floor on hour one.
Checkouts (lanes 01–03 in the toy shop) collect junk that does not belong on a belt. Clear them late. Hidden last pieces in this game hide as a yoyo, a letter-V foam board, and a basketball in a hoop. Hotfix 1.0.1 moved Puzzle Foam V from the top shelf of the corner plushie section to the floor for new saves. Players hunting 100% without skills stall here. The Toy Store walkthrough is the full route; this page is only the onboarding. When remaining counts stall, use Sorting Faster.
Skills, tokens, and when to invite people
Play the first clear with skills if you want the loop, not a speedrun. Long Reach and stack size remove more walking than flashy HUD toys. Player reports say hidden tokens can feed arcade machines for extra buffs; treat that as a bonus scavenger hunt, not a required system. If you are two or more, split bays instead of both grabbing the same green pile — co-op roles and solo play spell out staffing.
Saves, timer, and known pain
Work at your own pace. After hotfix 1.0.1, ESC pauses the timer when you are the only player. Unstuck Product lives in settings if a SKU clips. Autosave still has day-one crash reports and people want separate solo versus co-op saves; screenshot remaining counts before you quit a long night. Looping music is a common complaint; there is no magic wiki toggle. There are no promo codes (codes). Confirm patches on hotfix 1.0.1 and links. Check system requirements if the Toy Store already stutters — the Megastore is worse.
Your first hour is done when the Toy Store HUD no longer jumps by hundreds of remaining items on every aisle, you have rebound Throw away from anything you mash by accident, and you know whether tonight is a solo run or a Discord invite.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Do I start in the Megastore?
No. Stores unlock progressively. Finish the Toy Store first, then the Supermarket, then the two-story Megastore.
How many items can I carry at the start?
The stack HUD shows 10 in the Toy Store. Later upgrades reach 20. Hotfix 1.0.1 set Stack Capacity to +3 after a bug granted +6. See best skills.
Is there a fail state or a timer I can lose to?
No fail state. You tidy at your own pace and see completion time at the end. ESC pauses the timer when you are the only player after hotfix 1.0.1.
Should I use a controller on day one?
The game advertises full controller support, but LT grab overlapping abilities is a real report. Prefer keyboard and mouse until you rebind; full notes are in the controls guide.
Where is Puzzle Foam V?
On new saves after 1.0.1 it sits on the floor of the corner plushie section, not the top shelf. The Toy Store walkthrough covers other last-item hides.
Are there codes or extra stores in 1.0?
No promo codes. Two more stores, a Workshop editor, and mods are roadmap items, not launch content. Other walkthroughs live on the Guides Hub.
