Megastore Tidy Up Together Arcade Machines and Token Buffs
Activate machines, spend tokens, and understand the cooldown, buff stacking, and crash behaviour.
Arcade machines are a secondary system in Megastore: Tidy Up Together that rewards players for exploring every corner of each store. Every machine requires tokens to activate — and tokens are hidden across the Toy Store, Supermarket, and Megastore. This page covers machine locations, how activation works, what buffs to expect, and how the system behaves in co-op and solo sessions.
Yolo Games Studio released the game on Steam for Windows on 2 September 2026. Arcade machines are present from launch. There are no promo codes that unlock them early; the codes hub covers that clearly.
What arcade machines do
Each store has at least one arcade machine. When you approach a machine, a prompt appears offering activation in exchange for tokens. Spending tokens at a machine grants a temporary buff that applies to your current sorting session.
Buffs are session-scoped: they last until you close the store, crash, or reload. They do not persist across sessions. There is no persistent upgrade track — the arcade system is a bonus layer on top of the main loop, not a progression path.
Arcade machine locations
Toy Store — 1 machine
The Toy Store arcade machine is near the exit, past the checkout lanes. Players commonly walk past it while carrying a final armful of products on their way out. Check the corner after lane 03 for the machine.
Supermarket — 1 machine
The Supermarket arcade machine is in the ambient aisle near the bakery section. It is not in a separate room; it sits between produce and the customer service desk, easy to miss if you are following a straight aisle path.
Megastore — 1 machine per floor (2 total)
The ground-floor machine is near the checkout lanes. The upper-floor machine is inside the clothing department, on the back wall near the changing rooms. Players who finish upstairs and head straight for the escalator often pass it without noticing the prompt.
How to activate a machine
Walk up to the arcade cabinet until the activation prompt appears on screen. The prompt is contextual — it will not appear if you are carrying a mixed stack or if your hands are full of non-matching products. The exact trigger condition for the prompt varies slightly by machine.
Confirm the prompt is visible before pressing anything. Once the prompt shows, activate and watch for a brief screen flash confirming the buff applied. If the machine goes quiet without a flash, the tokens were not consumed — this behaviour has been reported by players since launch.
Token requirements and farm locations
Each activation costs tokens. Tokens are hidden collectibles found by exploring store corners, shelves, and fixtures. There are 15 tokens total:
- Toy Store: 3 tokens
- Supermarket: 5 tokens
- Megastore: 7 tokens
Full token locations are on the Token Locations page. Read that page before a dedicated token run — it has exact hiding spots for every confirmed token in all three stores.
Buff effects
Player reports consistently name these buff categories from arcade machine activation:
- Movement speed boost — walk faster while carrying products. Most commonly reported buff.
- Stack size increase — carry more products before needing to shelve. Reported but less consistent.
- Reduced item highlight radius — matching products light up from further away.
The exact magnitude of each buff is not published by the studio. Treat these reports as community-calibrated estimates. Buffs stack if you activate multiple machines in the same session, but the effect plateaus. Do not plan a skill-tree route around arcade buffs — they are unreliable and session-only.
Cooldown and re-activation
Arcade machines have a cooldown period after activation. The exact duration varies by store. During cooldown the machine prompt does not appear. Players report cooldown of approximately 10–15 minutes in the Toy Store, longer in the Megastore.
You cannot bank multiple buffs by stacking activations. If cooldown is active, the machine simply does not respond. Waiting near the machine does not shorten the cooldown.
Co-op behaviour
Arcade machine buffs apply to the activating player only. If one partner spends tokens at a machine, only that player receives the buff. The other player in the session sees no effect.
This matters most in the Megastore where two players are splitting floors. A player who finishes upstairs first and activates the clothing-department machine does not share the speed buff with their partner still working bakery downstairs.
Coordinate machine activations if both players want buffs. One activation per player per cooldown window is the practical rule.
Crash and reload behaviour
Arcade buffs are session-only and do not survive a crash, a reload, or a return from the pause menu. If the game crashes while a buff is active, the buff is gone when you reload. Tokens spent on an activation that preceded a crash are not refunded.
This is a known player pain point. Autosave crashes have been reported since launch. The Unstuck and Saves page covers recovery habits. Arcade buffs should be treated as a bonus on top of a session already being managed with regular saves.
Relationship to the main loop
Arcade machines and tokens are not required for any store completion. The 100% completion target is the HUD reaching zero — no tokens, no arcade activations. Token hunting and machine activation belong to a second session layer: explore, find, spend, then return to the shelf.
If you are deep in a twelve-hour Megastore run and a machine is on your route, hit it. If you are in a time-trial or no-skill run, treat tokens as a distraction. The Sorting Faster route and the store checklist are the primary tools. Arcade buffs are a secondary bonus, not a strategy.
What this page does not confirm
The studio has not published official buff values, cooldown durations, or machine locations. Everything here comes from player reports in the first weeks after launch. If a later patch changes arcade machine behaviour — adds machines, adjusts costs, changes buff magnitude — trust the Steam news post and update accordingly.
This page will not list token locations. That detail lives on the Token Locations page with exact hiding spots.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many arcade machines are in the game?
Four total: one in Toy Store, one in Supermarket, and two in the Megastore (one per floor).
What do arcade machine buffs actually do?
Player reports name movement speed boost, stack size increase, and reduced highlight radius. The exact values are not published by the studio.
Do arcade buffs persist after a crash?
No. Arcade buffs are session-only. If the game crashes or you reload, the buff is gone and spent tokens are not refunded.
Can my co-op partner use the same arcade buff?
No. Arcade buffs apply to the activating player only. Each partner needs to spend their own tokens to receive a buff.
Where are all the tokens?
15 tokens total: 3 in Toy Store, 5 in Supermarket, 7 in Megastore. Exact locations are on the Token Locations page.
Should I plan my skill tree around arcade buffs?
No. Arcade buffs are session-only, unreliable, and do not survive crashes. Buy Long Reach and Stack Capacity from the skill tree first.
